How much is that doggy in the window?

Wanted to come on for a couple of things tonight. Got asked yesterday to do a month full time in layby to cover co-worker's vacation. Gawd dammit, I just got out of that place and they pull me back in! 4-week contract starts on Monday, which is awesome because since it's a public holiday I don't have to work it anyway and will be getting paid for 8 hours instead of my usual 4. :D

So, since I'm getting some extra fundage I went out tonight and bought the DVD player I was planning on getting a few weeks ago, until those delightful idiots broke the car window and I had to re-budget the money to fix it. I now have a shiny new Pioneer 410 sitting under the TV, and I have a good reason for spending the money instead of saving it, honest! I wanted this particular one because besides being region free (gotta be able to watch my R1 copy of The Lion King still), it has both a USB port on the front and plays DiVX, which means until I get around to importing the season sets I can watch Transformers Animated on the TV instead of the computer, which means I can (finally) get references so I can finally get on with Project Ani-cube! I've had the first batch of Decepticon backgrounds painted for months now, but lacked decent reference access with 'Zilla being down. Season 3 has ramped up the character count, so if I want to do them all I've got to get cracking! So you see, good reason. New DVD player is to help with arts!

While at Hardly Normals I also picked up some awesomesauce Skullcandy headphones. I have no excuse for spending the money on these, besides my old headphones being busted. And that they were an awesome colour. >_> I blame Kas really, since she had a wicked pair a few years ago. :P Unnnnnnfortunately, when I get home I find that Oblivion (my iPod) is on the fritz too! I was only getting sound through one side of my old headphones, so naturally I thought it was them and not the iPod. But when I plug the Skullcandys in I only got sound through the left side on them too! :( So after bitching to Kas about it I tested it on my DS, and nope, headphones worked perfectly. So I go back to the iPod and fiddle around with the plug, if I pull it out so it's just connected I get sound through the right, and if I push it all the way in I get sound through the left, but I can't get both channels to work at the same time. :( Bugger, cause I can't afford a new iPod, and I really don't want to get a new one anyway. Oblivion's done me good, I've really only got 8gig of music on him (he's a 30GB Video), the rest I use for transfering anime around and backing stuff up. I'm going to see if there's an Apple store in town so I can get him repaired, I'm pretty sure there's a Mac shop at the uni.

And lastly, Mum wants to go down to the Sunshine Coast for her birthday this year, which is gonna be cutting it close at work. It's a week before the "Absolutely no holidays because of Toy Sale" time in July, and the store's getting a renovation that's starting in June. Also, I've already booked time off in August for Manifest. >_> I asked my manager and she said it should be ok though, since I only want a few days off. I really hope I can go, because I'M GETTING A PUPPYYYYYY!!! :D:D:D My sister's been trying to get her dog pregnant, and a while ago we decided that if she succeeded I could have one of the pups. :D Bella's due later this month, so we can bring her (I want a girl, no ifs ands or buts) back when we go down for Mum's birthday. EEEEEE, SO EXCITED! :D
