- I'm this close to rage-quitting FFXIII. Up to the final chapter, and I'm getting the Game Over screen far more often than I should in non-boss battles. Which makes me wonder what would be happening if I hadn't spent those few days running around doing random missions and gaining extra experience. There's challenging Squeenix, then there's "Why am I still playing this when it's not fun anymore?" I don't want to go back and level grind, that would have the same effect as if I stopped playing, I'd forget what the shit I was supposed to be doing and what was going on with the story.
Either that or I'm just suffering Final Fantasy burn out. Been playing it pretty much non-stop since I got it.
- Should find out this week if I can get the time off for AVCon this year or not. Either way I need find my Sculpey and start making charms. The bracelets sold pretty well last year, want to get a good stock up and try these new ideas I've been thinking of.
- Slept through another cyclone last night. Kinda surreal to go to bed and have it looming/hitting the coast, then waking up to find it's all over. Bit anti-climactic really. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful that we've been pretty lucky in that there hasn't been a cyclone directly hit us for years, I've just been thinking it's probably making the population a bit complacent. I know I wasn't as worried about it as I should've been in the lead up to it. Didn't help that Ului farted around out at sea for a week, there's only so much anticipation you can handle.
There's bound to be one come along that will wallop us and half the town won't be prepared at all. We've got to be due for one soon actually, we've been far too lucky recently.
- Bought the first Keys to the Kingdom book this week. Had a gift card for the bookstore that was close to expiring and I couldn't think of anything else to use it on. Heard good things about the series from a few people so it seemed like a pretty safe bet. Also picked up one called The Hunchback Assignments, it looked alright. Steampunk Victorian England, secret agents, mysterious powers, can't really go wrong with that.
