I've always said the only good thing to come out of the 80s was the cartoons. 80s fashion is...just...gyuhhh. The shoulder-pads. The big hair. *shudder* And seeing as the 80s was when Kylie Mynogue appeared, yeah, the music of the era is not my favourite either. After today's actions though I'm not sure if I have to revise my statement or not.

You see, at lunch today I bought The Galvatrons album Laser Graffiti. I've been aware of the band for a while now, I think they were mentioned somewhere on TAAU way back when I frequented it (man I just realised how long it's been since I visited that place. Damn I miss it), and their song "Cassandra" was used last year on one of the DVDs we play at work. Last week however I finally decided I must get around to purchasing their album after finding out they also have a song called "Robots Are Cool." Gee, I wonder what their influences are? xD There's no way you can't tell me Cassandra wasn't influenced by Lion's version of the Transformers theme (it's the guitar at the beginning) and Robots Are Cool by Dare To Be Stupid. Go on, go check the tracks on their site and compare, I'll wait.

Yeah? Yeah. Anyway, my point to all this? The album is pure 80s inspired synth. And I love it. xD I think these guys may be my new favourite band after The Living End. And they're Aussie too, bonus points! :D

*gets back to the serious business of rocking out*

....hmm, is it possible to have a Nostalgia Trip with something that wasn't originally around at the time of said Nostalgia?
