Checking in

Still here, it'll take more than a little cyclone to get rid of me! Lost power at home, so I'm posting this from my aunt's place. I know, we shouldn't have been on the roads, but I needed my phone charged, the bloody thing drained itself dry searching for the network over the night. And that was from a full charge too, harrumph.

Was very windy last night, but we got off light compared to further north. The eye crossed between Innisfail and Cardwell, so they copped yet another battering, poor sods. Was still very windy this morning so I've spent most of the day indoors keeping out of the way.

Directly around the house there's very minimal damage, we had one fence railing come loose and we have a sheet of tin from the neighbour's bird cage in our yard. Around the corner in the street however? TREES, TREES EVERYWHERE! I was bloody floored on the drive over at the amount of trees that have just gone *TIP*, root ball and all. People were out with their chainsaws clearing the local streets, so the council could concentrate on the main roads and bigger jobs. There's also some power lines down around the neighbourhood, don't know when they'll be repaired and we'll get power back.

Dogs were pretty good, Benson slept through the night in his crate, but I think it was too noisy in my room as Blitz shifted to mum's bed midway through the night. x3

Not sure if I'll have to work tomorrow or not at this stage (hence needing my phone charged), but I really hope not. Frankly people should have bigger things to worry about than shopping for non-essentials I think.
