Just a quick note to say that I'm also jumping on the dreamwidth backup bandwagon while they're not requiring codes. Same name, so if you see ghazrat adding you you can call off the attack squad. Not sure if I'm going to update it much while LJ is playing nice, but feel free to add me. :)

I require assistance from those with American taste buds.

So I want to make these tasty looking little things for Christmas Eve next week (because frankly my cooking abilities are scarily bad, but I figure I should be able to crush biscuits and melt chocolate without too much disaster), but Australia does not have anything like a Nutter Butter. No peanut butter cookies for us. :(

This is where you, my friends across the Pacific come in. I figure I could just buy some plain biscuits and mix in peanut butter with the cream cheese, but I don't know what the actual cookies themselves taste like! Is the peanut butter just in the filling, or is it in the cookie as well? Do they taste malty, or milky or what? DT and Mattafoo, would you mind asking your other halves? I figure they'd be the best able to answer my strange question, and would be at least familiar with what we have easily available here. >_> Please and thanking you! :D

Forget Cyclone Season, apparently 2012 is going to be Electrical Storm Season.

Within a week we have just had two quite large electrical storms, both with some of the bloody loudest thunder I have ever heard in my entire life! There was one last Sunday evening, then the second storm woke me up at 3:30am last night with this ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE CRACK OF THUNDER! I really wanted to try and attempt to get some shots or a video, but I think all the lightning was above the clouds that were directly above us or something. KA-BOOMSKI!

So now I go to work without having enough sleep thanks to that storm. At least the humidity from the past few days has gone now though!

Random Thoughts 6: *insert witty quip here*

~ Dark of the Moon is out on DVD/Blu-Ray. There is not, however, a set of the trilogy. Not sure if I should get the Blu-Ray now, or grab the DVD and hope there'll be a triple pack in the future. The staff member at JB said they're releasing the 3D version next year, so they might do a trilogy set at the same time. Maybe. *kicks Paramount*

~ Full time contract at work until New Years. Yay! :D Roster will be Tuesday-Saturday until New Years. Boo. :(

~ Skyward Sword comes out in 11 days. I wish to play a Legend of Zelda game before it comes out. Options have been narrowed down to Majora's Mask or Wind Waker. Three More Days or Ocean Cruise. HMMMMM.

~ Art block broken when I made some Christmas presents out of Sculpey. Yay! :D Art block returns when I can't think of what else to make for Christmas presents out of Sculpey. Boo. :(

~ Batman: Arkham City is a damn fine game. However, I got shitty at it when I finished the story at about 40%. Then I got even shittier when I discovered that some of the side missions are locked out if you don't complete them before you finish the story. So Arkham City joined Final Fantasy XIII in the time out corner. Which I find amusing because I put FFXIII in the time out corner to go play Batman: Arkham Asylum.

~ Almost through the pile of books I borrowed from the library. 3 left to goooooo!

I was a good girl though and only borrowed 13 books.

Great googly moogly, the local libraries now lets you take out 25 items at a time. Twenty-five. I have no idea how someone would be able to go through all of them in a mere 4 weeks. I can remember when you were only allowed 6 books over a 2 week period! And I still had trouble finishing them all and getting them back on time!

And he's the good guy.

Okay, you know how from time to time I mention a book series called Skulduggery Pleasant? Usually when a new book comes out? Well the author is having a wee bit of a promotion and competition at the moment. The series is re-launching in the US, with FREE EBOOK DOWNLOAD (for the US only dagnabbit) until the end of October. For those of you reading this in the US I would highly recommend taking up said free ebook offer at the following link. http://bit.ly/qNJYCP What've you got to lose, it's free! :D For those not in the US, umm, go buy the books or borrow them from the library? >_>

So that's the promotion. The competition was to pimp said link, and post this pretty picture.

At least, I hope it's that picture. He said post the new US cover and that's the only pic I could find of it on his site. >_> COMPETITION ENTERED!

Random Thoughts: Episode 5 - The Return!

AKA I really need to update this thing more often.

~ Aside from updating I need to comment on all your entries more often too. I feel bad because I take the time to read everything but I don't take the time to comment. I also feel like it's rude of me too, and I don't like that. :/ It's been made worse lately by my recent trip to Melbourne. Stuff happened while I was away that I felt it would've been weird to comment on a week later, which meant I ended up not commenting at all, and that lead to a knock on effect of not commenting on later things because I didn't comment on the earlier Big Shit, and hello spiral of shame. BUT! I'm going to try and work on being active more, because I do <3 all you guys.

~ Speaking of Melbourne, LIVING END WAS AWESOME! :D Man I love those guys live. TLE is best heard live, and they know it. I really hope that the rumour of them doing a proper tour of Australia next year, rather than just the capital cities, is true. I want to see them again alreadyyyyyyyy. And as a nice bonus I found a new band. King Cannons was the second opening act, and they were so much better than the emo wannabe first band. They have a rockabilly sound, and got instant cool points for their dapper hats, and the fact that they used bongos and a harmonica. Plus they sound pretty good too! :3

~ Finished inFAMOUS 2's good story line last week.

*slow clap*

Well played Sucker Punch, well bloody played. I was not expecting that choice at the end. AND YOU BASTARDS FOR WHAT HAPPENED! D: I do want to go back through the "evil" storyline, but it's gonna be a while before I get time for that. Arkham Asylum City comes out next week after all!

~ I WON A KRE-O KIT! :D A couple of weeks ago Hasbro Australia launched a Kre-O website and they've been offering prizes for top scorers on the games there. And I got 3rd place on the Prime Defence game while I was down in Melbourne! :D It's been bumped off by now, but the important thing was I had a high score at the right time! :D My Mirage kit (finally) arrived earlier this week. So I now has 4 Kreons; Bumblebee, Red Alert, Mirage and Botcon/SDCC Matrix Prime. :3

~ I was going to do a photocomic to say that I won the Mirage Kre-O, but it wasn't really working too well. So have one of the frames of what Kreons I have with their respective counterparts. )

~ Would you belive I hadn't opened Classics Mirage before that photoshoot? I know, I'm a horrible Transformers parent, leaving a fair amount of my 'bots in their plastic prisons over the last few years. In my defense, I'd rather they be safe and protected in there than not displayed properly out in the elements. But that's not the point of this...point. The point is that Mirage is an absolutely gorgeous piece of toy design and engineering. I had no idea how stunning this toy was. The amount of movement, not to mention the sheer range that Mirage has is just astounding. He's simply glorious. *_*

~ I am so not looking forward to Summer. We've already had some 30°C+ days and it's only the middle of Spring. Meep. D: I had to laugh at the recent "heat wave" in the UK though, of 29°C days. I know it's all relative to what the weather is usually like in that area and what the people are used to, but come back when you have to put up with 40°C+ with something like 70% or more humidity. (sorry [livejournal.com profile] loolaa x3 )

~ And to finish, to make up for the failed comic, have Kreon Bumblebee riding Bumblesweet. )

Two things

1) Is it wrong that I bought Portal 2 purely to play co-op with a certain person? >_>

2) Why is there Christmas crap showing up at work already? It's times like this that make me wish we had stuff like Halloween and Thanksgiving in Australia, if only to hold back the flood of Christmas stock from showing up in stores in September. -_-

4½ Happys

It was going to be 5 Happys, but the last one came with a flip side. >_>

Numbah 1!
We now have a loose leaf tea store in town. A loose leaf tea store. Here. Loads of different varieties of sweet delicious aromatically flavoured nummy tea. WOOT!

*sips freshly brewed cup of Tropical Star*

Mmmmm nomnom tasty. :9

Numbah 2!
Cartoons! :D Animaniacs has recently started playing on free-to-air again. Ahh, they just don't make cartoons like this anymore. Though I never noticed just how song happy the Warner Siblings were the first time around.

The new Thundercats cartoon is pretty sweet too. Kevin Michael Richardson may be odd as Bulkhead, but he makes a pretty perfect Panthro!

Numbah 3!
Last day of work today before holidays! Which means 5 days until I fly to Melbourne and 6 days until The Living End time! :D WOOHOO!

Numbah 4!
Double discount at work means I finally grabbed the Transformers Vault book. I do loves me some coffee table books full of interesting stuff. AND AND, the new Skulduggery Pleasant came out too. YOINK! :3

Which brings us to Numbah 5! Aka the halfsie happy.
KRE-O KITS SHOWED UP AT WORK YESTERDAY! HOMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY ACTUALLY SHOWED UP LOCALLY-wait, they're HOW MUCH? Between $23 for Mirage and ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY DOLLARS FOR OPTIMUS? D: Geez Hasbro, what are you trying to pull here exactly? The Aussie Dollar is doing pretty well against the US one, why exactly are we paying over TWICE the price? o_O What, do you ship them all to America then ship them back across the same ocean to us?

Horse, if there's another Buy one Get one half price/free whatever on the Kre-O kits, I may have to cave and ask beg you to snag and post 'em for me. >_>

Now, off to get ready for this last shift of work. Then, HOLIDAYS! :D

EDIT: Bonus lulz! I was having a wee bit of a cartoon spamathon this morning, going through the backlog of stuff I'd recorded to try and clear some space on my PS3's hard drive. Mum comes out and looks at the list and goes "You record the brave and the bold?!"

*takes two seconds to realise what she actually meant*

Me: "Yeah, 'Batman: The Brave and the Bold'. Not 'The Bold and the Beautiful'." xD

"Endorsed by Stephenie Meyer! :D"

This is why I can't hear nice things.

I have a bad habit of recognising voice actors from previous roles when listening to new stuff. Sometimes I can pick them straight away, other times it's just out of my mental reach and I have to go check on IMDB and go "OHHHHHHHHHH!" One of my biggest pet peeves with voice acting is when people just reuse the same voice without even trying to change it, it pulls me out of the series and all I can see is their previous character. It's why I can't watch anything with Lara Jill Miller doing a role, as she just uses the same voice over and Over and OVER! I associate her voice with the first role I heard her in, Kari from Digimon. And I cannot stand Kari. xD

So, to the point. There I was merrily playing Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, thinking Spidey 2099 was a wee bit familiar but couldn't be buggered stopping long enough to check, when all of a sudden Mysterio lets loose with a maniacal laugh. A very familiar maniacal laugh. One that sounds like it should be followed by a "Yeeeeeeeeesssssssss" and he should have a rubber ducky under his arm. David Freaking Kaye is playing Mysterio! xD I'm not going to be able to take Mysterio seriously for the rest of this game, all I'm going to be able to see is Megatron's purple puss under Mysterio's bubble helmet there. What has been heard cannot be unheard. x3

Oh, and the reason Spidey 2099 sounded so familiar? FREAKING G1 BUMBLEBEE! That should give you a bit of an idea as to the extent of this "talent", I haven't watched any of G1 in aaaaaaaaaaages! xD

Put down the 80s franchise and step away from the movies!

So in my random internet boredom trawlings tonight, I came across this little nugget:

"Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon have brought Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form on to produce the next film that reboots the film series."

Noooooo! No nono no nonooo nononononononononono! There's so many reasons for Do Not Want. D:

1) You've already had one movie series based on an 80s nostalgia fueled cartoon series to play with Bay, get your hands away from the Turtles. As much as I love the live action Transformer movies, I will be perfectly content if Bay never comes near that franchise ever again.
2) Like Transformers the subject of TMNT as a whole is pretty darn silly. Giant Alien Robots that Turn Into Cars makes about as much sense as Giant Terrapins That Know Martial Arts. But just because the subject matter can be seen as silly doesn't mean it shouldn't be handled with respect. Unlike Transformers, TMNT has had live action movies done before, and pretty darn well done at that (studio meddling to make them less dark as the franchise went on aside).
3) I do not want to see a TMNT movie about the freaking US military trying to either capture or fight alongside (and completely overshadow) the characters the movie is NAMED AFTER.
4) While I don't particularly mind the way the 80s TMNT movie series evolved (and took on a decidedly less serious tone as they went on {Ninja Rap ftw!}), I would like to keep the seriousness that they tried to re-install with the 2007 CGI movie please. They are freaking ninja and have Very Deadly Weapons that they use in Very Dangerous Fights.
5) And on the fact that they are ninja, that means that there is a tendancy towards the silent and stealthy approach. There should be no asplosions to save you here. But I can't shake this feeling that that doesn't mean you won't try. -_-

In other more excitement news, time off for Living End approved, and concert tickets purchased. All that's left is the flights. :D

Screw a cool off period to get my thoughts together, LET THE FAN-SPAZZING COMMENCE!

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT. Ok, going to try to do this as coherently as I can, but you know how I can barely string two sentences together when I'm not excited, let alone when I've just sat through two and a half hours of FREAKING AWESOMENESS!

P.S. Spoiler City under here. )

Strangely, since I found out it was shot with 3D cameras, I want to break my no 3D rule and go see it with the glasses. If I manage to get my head wrapped around it after the repeat viewings, I may try to make a better post. But don't hold your breath. ;)

Now to wait for the Nostalgia Critic review that sums up my thoughts on the movie a lot more clearly than I ever could! x3

And I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your holiday away.

Well feckballs. The ash cloud from Mount Wannahockaloogie Puyehue-Cordon Caulle got its dirty plumes around New Zealand and Qantas cancelled our international flight. No snow holiday for Ghaz in June. :(

We're going to reschedule for September, but if you'll excuse me I'm going to go sit in the corner under a cloud for a while.

And sometimes I wonder why I want a new job...

Just got a phonecall this morning, asking if I could come in to work all day. Not normally a problem, except for one little thing today...I went on holidays yesterday and have a plane to catch this afternoon. xD Le sigh.

So before I go to New Zealand (and meet Shades and see TF3 with her, yay! :D ), have a little bit of sillyness. )
